Choosing a new school website provider can be difficult. There are plenty of companies to choose from, and naturally every provider will tell you why they think they’re the best.

So sometimes it’s more useful to ask the people who actually use them.

That’s exactly what happened recently when a school leader posted in the Primary School Leaders Facebook group, asking fellow school leaders for recommendations for a new school website provider.

They were looking for a company that was supportive, responsive and reasonably priced.

We weren’t involved in the conversation, but we were rather pleased when we saw the replies…

“Greenhouse are great!”

What did school leaders say?

The recommendations included:

💚 “Another vote for Greenhouse!”

💚 “Greenhouse – superb!!”

💚 “Definitely Greenhouse. They did everything we asked, the CMS is very easy to use and the ‘O’ notifications were very accurate!”

💚 “Greenhouse is excellent”

💚 “2nd vote for Greenhouse. Great customer service, easy to maintain. Simple to use and update.”

💚 “Greenhouse are good”

There were recommendations for a handful of other school website companies too, but we were delighted to see Greenhouse mentioned again and again.

Recommendations mean more when they come from other schools

We’re obviously proud of the websites we design, but a school website isn’t just about how it looks on launch day.

Schools need a website that’s easy for staff to update, backed up by people who are there when help is needed, and supported by useful features that make managing the website easier.

That’s why some of the comments above particularly made our day. The school leaders weren’t simply recommending Greenhouse because they liked the appearance of their website. They specifically mentioned customer service, ease of use, support and our Ofsted visitor notifications.

Those are all things we’ve spent a lot of time developing because they’re the things that matter once a website becomes part of the day-to-day running of a school.
