There are plenty of companies to choose from, and naturally every provider will tell you why <em>they<\/em> think they&#8217;re the best.<\/p>\n<p>So sometimes it&#8217;s more useful to ask the people who actually use them.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s exactly what happened recently when a school leader posted in the <strong>Primary School Leaders Facebook group<\/strong>, asking fellow school leaders for recommendations for a new school website provider.<\/p>\n<p>They were looking for a company that was <strong>supportive, responsive and reasonably priced<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We weren&#8217;t involved in the conversation, but we were rather pleased when we saw the replies&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cGreenhouse are great!\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the conversation, with names and profile photographs obscured for privacy:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-crop\" style=\"width: 718px; height: 1175px; position: relative; overflow: hidden; border: 1px solid #CCC; margin: 20px auto 40px auto; text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"position: absolute; top: -180px; left: 0; width: 718px; height: 1433px; border: 0;\" title=\"Recommended school website providers\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1224896389?badge=0&amp;autopause=0&amp;player_id=0&amp;app_id=58479&amp;autoplay=1&amp;muted=1&amp;loop=1\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1920\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2>What did school leaders say?<\/h2>\n<p>The recommendations included:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cGreenhouse are great!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cGreenhouse. Customer service is superb!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cAnother vote for Greenhouse!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cGreenhouse \u2013 superb!!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cDefinitely Greenhouse. They did everything we asked, the CMS is very easy to use and the \u2018O\u2019 notifications were very accurate!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cGreenhouse is excellent\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201c2nd vote for Greenhouse. Great customer service, easy to maintain. Simple to use and update.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#x1f49a; \u201cGreenhouse are good\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There were recommendations for a handful of other school website companies too, but we were delighted to see <strong>Greenhouse mentioned again and again<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenhouseschoolwebsites.co.uk\/i\/graphics\/social\/recommended-providers-screenshot.png\" alt=\"School leaders recommending Greenhouse School Websites in a Facebook discussion\" style=\"border: 1px solid #ccc;\nwidth: calc(100% - 2px);\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Recommendations mean more when they come from other schools<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re obviously proud of the websites we design, but a school website isn&#8217;t just about how it looks on launch day.<\/p>\n<p>Schools need a website that&#8217;s easy for staff to update, backed up by people who are there when help is needed, and supported by useful features that make managing the website easier.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why some of the comments above particularly made our day. The school leaders weren&#8217;t simply recommending Greenhouse because they liked the appearance of their website.
