There a few additions relating to the school website and we cover these later.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important you review all the changes to ensure your school website remains compliant. \u00a0To help, we\u2019ve prepared a summary of the key changes for you below, separating them into clarifications of existing information or new information. They can be read in conjunction with our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenhouseschoolwebsites.co.uk\/ofsted-checklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free ofsted checklist<\/a> for schools which has been updated to include the new requirements.<\/p>\n<h2>School website Requirements:<br \/>\nKey Stage 4 Information<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>Clarification &#8211; pupil destinations are now a &#8220;suggestion&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>We suggest that schools also publish the percentage of students staying in education or going into employment after key stage 4 (pupil destinations).<\/p>\n<h2>Performance tables<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>New highlighted:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>You must include a link to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/school-performance-tables\">school and college performance tables<\/a>\u00a0and <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>your school\u2019s performance tables page.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Curriculum<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>New\/Clarification &#8211; including Religious education<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>the content of your school curriculum in each academic year for every subject, <strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">including Religious Education even if it is taught as part of another subject or subjects, or is called something else<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>PE\u00a0and sport premium for primary schools<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>New:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>how many pupils within their year 6 cohort can do each of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres<\/li>\n<li>use a range of strokes effectively<\/li>\n<li>perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Special educational needs (SEN) and disability information<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>New highlighted:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>the accessibility plan you have prepared in compliance with\u00a0paragraph 3 of schedule 10 to the Equality Act 2010\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>for:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>increasing the extent to which disabled pupils can participate in the school\u2019s curriculum<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>improving the physical environment of the school for the purpose of increasing the extent to which disabled pupils are able to take advantage of education and benefits, facilities and services provided or offered by the school<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>improving the delivery to disabled pupils of information which is readily accessible to pupils who are not disabled<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Careers programme information<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>New:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>From September 2018, you must publish information about the school\u2019s careers programme. This information must relate to the delivery of careers guidance to year 8 to 13 pupils in accordance with Section 42A of the Education Act 1997. For the current academic year, you must include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the name, email address and telephone number of the school\u2019s Careers Leader<\/li>\n<li>a summary of the careers programme, including details of how pupils, parents, teachers and employers may access information about the careers programme<\/li>\n<li>how the school measures and assesses the impact of the careers programme on pupils<\/li>\n<li>the date of the school\u2019s next review of the information published<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read the\u00a0statutory guidance for schools on careers guidance and access for education and training providers\u00a0for more information. The statutory guidance also contains further information about a policy statement that you must publish to comply with Section 42B of the Education Act 1997, setting out the circumstances in which providers of technical education and apprenticeships will be given access to year 8 to 13 pupils.<\/p>\n<h2>Governors&#8217; information and duties<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>New\/Clarification:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>information about each governor, including their:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>full name, date of appointment, term of office, date they stepped down (where applicable) and who appointed them (in accordance with the governing body\u2019s instrument of government)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">any material interests arising from relationships between governors or relationships between governors and school staff (including spouses, partners and close relatives)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>attendance record at governing body and committee meetings over the last academic year<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Ofsted Inspection Handbook<\/h2>\n<p>Several items have been added to the latest (September 2018) Ofsted Inspection Handbook with regard to evidence Inspectors should review as part of their planning and preparation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pupil premium strategy (including rationale and evaluation)<\/li>\n<li>Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium<\/li>\n<li>PE and sport premium (primary schools)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Finally<\/h3>\n<p>You can also read the newly updated list of school website requirements on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/what-maintained-schools-must-publish-online\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DfE website<\/a>, though it doesn\u2019t highlight the\u00a0changes since the last update as we\u2019ve listed them here.<\/p>\n<p>You can also review our blog post about the changes to statutory school website requirements which were made for 2017\/18 in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenhouseschoolwebsites.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/2017\/09\/sep-2017-ofsted-website-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post<\/a> written at the time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Again, you might find our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenhouseschoolwebsites.co.uk\/ofsted-checklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Free\u00a0Ofsted &amp; Statutory website checklist<\/a>\u00a0handy as it pulls them all together into one place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In May 2018, the DfE published updated their school website requirements and the information which all schools MUST publish on their school website.
